Permanent Interest Bearing Shares (PIBS)

Permanent Interest Bearing Shares (PIBS) are securities previously issued by building societies, normally at fixed interest rates, which are quoted on the stock market. Sometimes, a building society will issue a floating rate PIBS, this is where the interest rate changes to match other rates of interest. For more information surrounding PIBS, please visit the Building Society Association website.
